MEISNER ACTING CLASS: (LIVE Online from East Coast)
Join Meisner specialist, acting coach Richard Jewell for this class.
Meisner acting is a unique and powerful technique that focuses on truthful and honest performances. In Meisner acting classes, students learn to fully immerse themselves in the moment and respond instinctively to their scene partner, rather than relying on predetermined emotions or actions. The technique was developed by Sanford Meisner, a renowned acting teacher who believed that the key to great acting was to truly live in the moment and react authentically to the emotions and circumstances of a scene.
One of the core principles of Meisner acting is the concept of "living truthfully under imaginary circumstances." In class, students engage in a series of exercises and improvisations designed to help them tap into their emotions and instincts, and to fully commit to the reality of the scene. By focusing on truthful reactions and listening and responding to their scene partners, actors are able to create raw and captivating performances that take audiences on a journey of genuine emotion and connection.
